The Church is not bricks and mortar; a building that people go to on a Sunday. In the Bible the Church is defined as the people of God. All those who profess that Jesus, God's son, is the only way we can be reconciled with God.
We know that God is real and relevant to our world today. His word, the Bible, teaches us how we can live fulfilled lives, which bring him honour. As long as the message of the Bible is taught and explained, it will lead people to Jesus Christ and the new life he promises to anyone who trusts Him.
Why 'The Butts'?
'The Butts' refers to a piece of land at the western end of Alton so named as originally it was used for archers to practice - 'butt' signifying a mound behind their target or shooting range. When the church was formed, it met in a small hall in this area of town. Today we use the primary school that shares the same name.

Church Text 2019
“Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unploughed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.”
